Price is a native of Atlanta and the proud owner and director of Price Performing Arts Center (PPAC).  For the past 20 years, she has developed the PPAC program by providing curriculums in 8 disciplines through multiple training levels from 2 convenient locations in College Park and Decatur, Georgia taught by highly trained professionals.  Her center offers classes for students ranging from age 3 years to adult for all types of students from beginner to pre-professional.

Andrea also serves as the artistic director of the Price Performance Company, which was founded by her in August, 1995.  The members of this company perform locally and regionally for charitable organizations, special events and dance competitions.  They have been awarded countless platinum and high-gold awards for ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and lyrical routines at several dance competitions.  Many of the members have also received scholarships to the American Ballet Theater Summer Intensive program, Juilliard School Summer Professional Dance Intensive, the Alvin Ailey Summer Dance program and summer intensive programs in Los Angeles, New York, Texas, Florida, and Michigan.  Most recently they were featured performers for the 2007 Savion Glover pre-show that was held at the Rialto Center for the Performing Arts.  Most recently she founded the Progressions Tap Company and the Visions Pre-Professional Dance Company, both performing arms of Price Performing Arts Center.
Andrea has over 39 years of dance training, choreography and instruction experience combined.  Her professional training includes Northside School of the Performing Arts, Terpsichore Dance Center, Dance Educators of America, Steps Dance Studio and Broadway Dance Center in New York, Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles and a host of workshops/masterclasses/seminars in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, California, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Andrea has accomplished a great deal throughout her artistic career.  She has served as choreographer for several local high school dance lines/drill teams, the 1996 Summer Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies in Atlanta, the Georgia Tech Reckette Dance Line, Super Bowl pre-game and half-time shows, Gator Bowl, Kick-Off Classic, Sugar Bowl, Hall of Fame Black College Queen Pageant, BET Starcase 91 Talent Variety Show, and guest choreographer for the dance magnet programs at North Atlanta and Tri-Cities High Schools.  On the professional level, she has choreographed show stopping routines for the Delta Sigma Theta Debutante Ball, Souls of the Feet Dance Company, Youth Gospel Choice Awards, the Make-A-Wish foundation, Kut Klose and Keith Sweat back ground dancers, and more recently the 2008 16th Annual Trumpet Awards.  She recently was a featured choreographer in the first annual all female choreographer showcase, “She Created It”, sharing exciting tap choreographers with attendees.

Andrea was also recognized as the 2010 KUUMBA Award winner for outstanding achievement and contributions in the arts, which also included proclamation recognitions from Fulton County, East Point and College Park designating May 2nd as “Andrea Price” Day.  In addition, Andrea was also the 2011 Pinnacle Leadership Award in the categories of business/entrepreneurship and arts/entertainment.

Outside of her choreography projects, Andrea enjoys giving back to her community through directing and operating after-school dance programs for daycare, elementary, and learning academy programs.  More programs will be provided to these students, PPAC students and the Atlanta community through her new non-profit organization, the Price Arts Foundation, Inc., which provides artistic opportunities to young aspiring dancers through continued education, community outreach, program development and scholarship programs.  Since its inception on August 1, 2007 the Price Arts Foundation has awarded over 10 scholarships and has provided community outreach programs to underserved populations.

It is Andrea’s goal to continue to develop quality dance programs and artistic opportunities for the greater Atlanta community and surrounding areas for many years to come and to continue “Making a Contribution to the Arts Community Through the Development of New Talent”.
