Ballet and Jazz Instructor
Jacquana is a native of Flint, MI who began her dance training at the age of five with the Flint School of Performing Arts. She later went on to earn her BFA from Florida State University. Jacquana has received invitations to study with Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive, Joffrey Summer Workshop and scholarships to study with American Dance Festival, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and Deeply Rooted Productions. She has performed with Flint Youth Ballet, Mahogany Dance Theater, and Phlava Dance Company (where she also served as rehearsal director). She has worked with renowned choreographers such as Tyrone Brooks, Sean Curran, Demetrius Klein, Doug Varone, Garth Fagan, and Ron Brown to name a few. She is currently the director of the dance program at Mt. Zion High School. Jacquana has taught and choreographed in the areas of ballet, modern, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and creative dance in Michigan, Florida and Georgia.
